When
Diane and I started Treasure Dental Lab in 1968, we didn't realize the
many varied experiences we would have over the next 35 years. We owe a
great debt of gratitude to dentistry and the many exceptional dentists
and associates we have met and associated with these many years.
We
started as a one-man lab in Blackfoot, Idaho. I did all the work at
the bench and Diane came in and poured up models, did the bookwork at
home and ran the pickup and deliveries.
In
1973 we moved our dental lab to Idaho Falls, Idaho into a beautiful
new state-of-the-art dental complex, The Oral Health Center. There were
three
dentists,
a periodontist, oral surgeon, and orthodontist. We had our lab in the
basement of the building for five years.
In
1978 we and two other dentist, Jay Harris and Brent Simpson, built a
beautiful new dental complex, Dental Plaza. We then had a much larger
dental lab and new equipment to work with. Until 2005, our lab was at
this location and we did a major remodeling to increase the size and
efficiency of the lab.
I
have always been proud to be a part of the dental lab industry. I was
privileged to serve as President of the Idaho State Dental Lab Association
twice. I also served as a delegate to the National Dental Laboratory
Association meetings twice. Our lab was the second dental lab in Idaho
to become a National Certified Dental Lab.
We
have been fortunate to have many talented and wonderful employees work
in our lab. They have been a big part of our success. We have encouraged
them and provided many opportunities for them to improve their skills
and training. We feel very fortunate to have had two of our children,
John Treasure and Sherlyn (Sheri) Hamberlin, working with us for many
years. Now, as they assume ownership, we are very proud of them and
are confident in their abilities to provide consistent, quality dental
restorations. They will continue on to new heights and success in the
Dental Lab Industry.
One
of our goals was to be on the leading edge of dental technology and
surround ourselves with people who wanted the same goals. We feel we
have been able to accomplish this and appreciate the caliber of talented
technicians we have working at our dental lab at this time.
It
has been so exciting and rewarding to see and be a part of the technology
explosion in the dental field. Today the dental lab is a vital part
of the total dental team, which provides the finest products in dental
health care.
Shakespeare
said, "O Lord that lends me life, lend me a heart replete with thankfulness."
My heart is replete with thankfulness to the dental industry. Also to
the many wonderful dentists and their staff who have supported Treasure
Dental Lab through these many years.
Sincerely,
Barry Treasure
